The Brisbane community is gearing up for the 7th birthday celebration of the the annual family-fun Twilight Bay Run.
Celebrating our 7th year in 2018, the Twilight event will see thousands of local athletes and social runners and walkers take on a half marathon, 10km or 1km run, and 5km run or walk in the heart of Wynnum’s entertainment, dining and shopping precinct.
“We are excited to have a running course that showcases the best of Wynnum, including the CBD to help support local businesses,” Twilight Bay Run spokesperson Margot Manning said.
The Twilight Bay Run has a strong community focus, raising money and awareness for local charities each year. This year the event will again be raising funds and awareness for local charities and community groups. Since it’s inception the event has raised over $60,000 and will continue to contribute in 2018 and beyond.
Proving to be one of the most popular events on the community calendar, this unique event attracts runners from across Australia and abroad, and welcomes participants of all ages and abilities.
“An exciting range of free activities will also be available on the day, including a new obstacle course, zorb balling and a fireworks display,” Margot Manning said.
“There is something for everyone! I encourage the whole community to get behind the event and support local community charities, businesses and schools, while getting active under the stars alongside a sparkling waterfront”.
“Adding to the Twilight Bay Run’s uniqueness, we also have themed water station cheer squads to keep runners hydrated and motivated from start to finish”.
“Register, volunteer, fundraise, or join the community in lining the Wynnum Esplanade for an evening of fun and fitness under the moon and stars.”
